Transportation

Transportation can be a critical barrier for families working to regain stability. Donations of public transportation and ride-share gift cards help our guests get to work, school, medical appointments, and housing-related meetings safely and on time. Gift cards can be purchased at any local grocery store, or you can click below to support fares through the Pittsburgh Port Authority. Whether it’s a bus pass or a ride-share card, your support provides families with flexibility, dignity, and access to essential opportunities when they need it most.

In-Kind Donations

In-Kind Donation Policy

We are grateful for the generous support of our community through in-kind donations. In-kind donations refer to non-cash contributions, such as goods, services, or products, which help us fulfill our mission. This policy outlines the guidelines for donating in-kind items to ensure a smooth and effective process.

Guidelines for In-Kind Donations:

​

  1. Accepted Items: We welcome a variety of in-kind donations.  At times our home is at capacity and we are unable to take items.  Please contact us in advance to ensure your donation is needed and aligns with our current programs.

  2. Condition of Items: All items must be new, unused, and in good condition. We reserve the right to decline any donations that do not meet these standards.

  3. Donor Recognition: We value the generosity of our donors. Donors will be acknowledged as appropriate, based on the value and type of donation.

  4. Tax Deductions: In-kind donations may be tax-deductible. Donors are responsible for determining the value of their donation, and we encourage consulting with a tax advisor for any questions regarding deductions.

  5. Drop-off and Pickup: Donations can be dropped off at our location during specified hours. Please email us at donate@marysplacepgh.org to arrange a drop off.
