A Mission of Compassion

Mary’s Place of Pittsburgh provides safe housing and holistic support for pregnant women and mothers of newborns. Rooted in the Church and guided by love, we nurture a faith-based community where women are empowered to build stability, embrace independence, and create hopeful futures through life and parenting skills, faith-centered activities, and opportunities for service.

Supporting Mothers and Children like Mary

When you walk into the door of Mary’s Place, you see an image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, pregnant with our Savior.  When Mary appeared to St. Juan Diego in Mexico, she assured him that she was for all people.

"Am I not here, I who am your Mother? Are you not under my shadow and protection? Am I not the source of your joy? Are you not in the hollow of my mantle, in the crossing of my arms? Do you need something more? Let nothing else worry you or disturb you.”

Our Vision.

We affirm the dignity of every mother and child, upholding Christ’s command to love God and love our neighbor. Our work is guided by compassion, hope, and the belief that every life is a sacred gift.

Since its founding, Mary’s Place has grown into a home where women are empowered to heal, learn, and rebuild. Through structure, accountability, and grace, mothers are supported as they grow in confidence, strengthen their parenting skills, and prepare for independent living.

We support women as whole persons—

mind, body, and spirit.

Our residential program combines safe housing with individualized support, life-skills education, and spiritual nourishment.  Mothers participate in structured programming that fosters independence while building confidence, healthy routines, and meaningful relationships. Through mentorship, shared responsibilities, and faith-centered activities, women experience growth that extends far beyond their stay with us.

Our Core Values

Sanctity of Life

We affirm the God-given dignity of every mother and child, cherishing life from conception to natural death as sacred and worthy of protection.

Faith and Love

We are rooted in Christ’s command to love God and love our neighbor, creating a community where compassion, forgiveness, and grace guide every action.

Family-Centered Living

We honor the family as the foundation of society, cultivating a supportive, family-like environment where mothers and children can grow together in stability and hope.

Empowered Parenting

We equip mothers with the skills, confidence, and support they need to nurture their children with love, discipline, and faith.

Service and Stewardship

We live out our faith through service, teaching the value of giving back, caring for one another, and being good stewards of the resources entrusted to us.

Hope and Restoration

We believe in the power of redemption and second chances, offering pathways to healing, independence, and a brighter future for every mother and child we serve.
